CLEANING AND CONSERVATION OF THE GANGA In an interview with Indian journalists, the Netherlands Minister of Infrastructure and Environment, Ms. Melanie Schultz van Haegen discussed alternate ways for waste disposal and cleaning of the holy Ganga river. The NDA Government has accorded top priority to the cleaning and conservation of the Ganga river. The Netherlands has shown interest in assisting in the rejuvenation of the river: “We have a lot of experience with cleaning up water (…) We are asked in a lot of countries to come and help and assist, the Minister stated.
