CM Naveen Patnaik is within the pale of suspicion for conspiracy to kill Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, an incident which is still under investigation. With regard to the recent episode on Rathyatra at Puri, the CM is misusing the mandate of the people to disturb our cultural heritage. The State Government has no role on Temple matters but is seen interfering with the manner in which Sri Jagannath Temple is managed and the age old rituals are followed in worshipping the deity. Patnaik himself being from Brahmo Samaj is not a supporter of Sanatan Hindu culture. We educated Hindus in Odisha should all condemn the act of interference in religious matters by the CM and his administration.
