CM meets PTI Peshawar City Delegation led by Shaukat Yousafzai Handout No.1 Peshawar 26th January 2015 KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has strictly directed the authorities to focus full attention on health, hygiene and other civic facilities in all big cities of the province including Peshawar. Similarly he asked for taking action on complaints of the citizens on priority basis as well as respond them in individual capacity about progress on such complaints so that they could be involved in development process and get their active cooperation. He said that Rs.50 million each have been provided to all provincial constituencies of Peshawar city for replacement of the old rusted water pipes that would be further enhanced on need basis. However he expressed the confidence that the MPAs and authorities would also feel their responsibilities in this respect. He further asked for cleaning the canals passing from the city so that healthy crops, fruits and vegetable could be provided to the people and they could be saved from its contaminations and diseases. He was talking to a delegation of PTI Peshawar city PK-2 Union office bearers headed by Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Deputy Parliamentary leader of PTI in KP assembly that called on him here in Chief Minister’s Secretariat Peshawar. Besides, some problems of the residents of Peshawar, the delegation also gave suggestions and recommendations for accelerating the pace of work of development schemes in the city. Administrative MCP Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Chief Executive WSSP Engr. Muhammad Naeem and other heads of various govt departments were also present on this occasion. The delegation while appreciating the effective role of chief minister for abolition of corruption according to the vision of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and implementation of the agenda of change as well as improving the cleanliness and hygiene situation in the city assured full cooperation to him in this regard. Chief Minister said that PTI workers had proved that the political awareness and discipline of our workers is better and exemplary from that of other political parties. He said that this unique quality has been accepted by all, saying his party workers do not believe in the politics of plots and permits, which was the tradition of the governments of the past and were used to be looked after as white elephants nourished on public exchequer. He said that the people fed up of political gratitude had voted PTI into power and if we also failed in accomplishing the agenda of change as per vision of Imran Khan and party manifesto then our fate will not be different from other political parties. The Chief Minister urged the party workers to serve the people with a spirit of service and hold such kind of contacts and meetings with party leaders and members of the national and provincial assemblies concerned on regular basis, which he said is a basic pre-requisite for political education, training and discipline. He said it beside highlighting the problems of the province and guaranteeing its redressal will also promote mutual love and harmony among the party workers. He assured that the provincial government in this regard will play its role in efficient manner and in light of the public mandate will leave no stone unturned in the elimination of corruption from society and officialdom. Similarly, he said transparent and judicious utilization of development funds will also be guaranteed. Pervez Khattak said that besides Peshawar, the pace of development process is being accelerated throughout the province and small and medium mega schemes have also been initiated. Talking about health, cleanliness and drinking water facilities in the city, he said though maximum improvement has been witnessed, but for getting more better results most of the responsibilities of municipal corporation on pattern of developed countries have been handed to a separate company WSSP which is bound to bring 100 per cent improvement in the situation. Furthermore, he said work on Green and Clean Peshawar Project is also in progress and we are hopeful that greenery and flowers will be sighted on the highways and parks of the city, which will get phase-wise growth. The Chief Minister urged the party workers to besides keeping close contact with the people, they also dispatch their problems to complaint cell and also cooperate in their redressal. For this purpose, he said besides Chief Minister’s Secretariat, complaint cells have also been established at district administration and departments’ levels while directives have also been issued to the party for establishment of complaint cells at provincial and divisional levels. He assured the resolution of education, health, drinking water and cleanliness problems in the city on priority basis and in this regard issued on spot directives to concerned authorities.
