* COD GHOSTS NEWS * Mark rubin: lag Compensation system Tweaked in Ghosts Prior to E3, YouTube commentator Drift0r had a chance to talk to Infinity Ward executive producer, Mark Rubin, regarding the lag compensation system in Call of Duty: Ghosts and what the team at Infinity Ward is doing to improve it. Previous titles in the Call of Duty series have heavily relied on geographic location in matchmaking; however, at times, ISP’s don’t provide accurate locations and networks don’t always follow the same geographic patterns, making this a problem in the matchmaking system. Infinity Ward is working on preventing this issue in Ghosts. While the matchmaking system will use the same core mechanics as previous titles in the series, Ghosts matchmaking will not rely on geographic location but rather on picking the best host with the preferred connection. Infinity Ward is planning on using a new mapping technique to “get a feel for your Internet location” so that you are matched to proper lobbies. Here’s the video embedded below.
