COMMENT ON YOUTUBE: Corinthians 2:14 - The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. __ This is a convenient assertion, as 1) it insulates those who claim the Spirit from scrutiny and 2) it makes the bible an essentially useless tool for evangelizing the lost. (This is the Good News. Too bad you cant figure it out, folks.) Of course, presupposing scripture to be true isnt a virtue, especially in light of its authorship (unknown) and content (ridiculous and immoral), and if the fall-back position is Divine Revelation, then apologists will have to stand in a long line of other apologists WITHIN THE SAME FAITH who have received conflicting revelations from the very god who is not the author of confusion. And ultimately, if such a being as Yahweh existed, whod want to sign up for that train wreck? His omniscience foresaw the torture of billions in Hell, but he continued with the original plan. He actually authored the mechanism for that torture and refuses to use his omnipotence to either manifest redemption outright or come up with a less sadistic form of justice. He has been so effective at spreading the message of salvation that 2/3 of the planet either doesnt worship him or worships someone else. And while my 77-year-old mother can send a perfectly worded and absolutely clear email across the globe in a few seconds, Yahweh places his critical message in the hands of anonymous primitives who lived 1,400 years before the invention of the printing press. Yeah. Lets talk about foolishness.
