COMMERCIALIZATION OF NIGERIAN EDUCATION SECTOR... With sadness and heaviness of heart,i write these. Tears like raindrops everyhere and there. Minimum wage is 18,000naira,cost of Rice is high,shelter is hard to get,London used clothes to us is the best,my brother na poverty! Now Education,our right,is a priviledge.We dont have federal Universities,we have Private Universities,how on earth will a federal university charge as much as 200,000thousand naira in name of Education? Where will the peasant farmers get the amount,the traders,the pepper sellers,the shoe makers,their children aint entitled to education? 26% budget now allocated to mismanagement and corruption instead of education. The painful thing is that,what improvement in quality has the schools provided? Hostels are dirtier than slums, toilets are death-holes,bathrooms,do we have that? Quality of Lecturing is reducing,equipments we lack,funds they siphon,victimization is the order of the day.NANS is now a political body,where is the lost glory? Gone are those days when Students sneeze and government fear,now even if we cough or shout,we are on our own,weve lost our respect.Arise Nigeria,lets reclaim our own dear native land!
