COMPUTER MAKING A FUNNY NOISE? PAY ATTENTION! I had a customer bring a computer in today for unrelated problems, but I quickly found a very serious problem. At 13 seconds in this video, you can see the 115V / 230V selector switch arcing. The computer made a crackling sound shortly after it was plugged in. I found one of the input wires to the selector switch had de-soldered itself and was not making proper contact. This could have been a very serious issue. Could it have started a fire? I am somewhat doubtful, but I would not want to take the chance. If you ever notice something that doesnt seem quite right, dont ignore it!
