CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL RATING SINKS TO 15 PERCENT Gallup - TopicsExpress

CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL RATING SINKS TO 15 PERCENT Gallup notes that “435 House members and one-third of the Senate who face re-election could do so amid the LOWEST approval ratings for a midterm election in modern history.” So Gallup asked Americans how they would fix Congress. Fire them all (22%), no opinion (16%), get them to work together (14%) and term limits (11%) were the top four answers. None are workable solutions for what ails this Congress. Congressional approval is so low for three reasons: 1. John Boehner couldn’t lead a kindergarten class to the playground; 2. Mitch McConnell wouldn’t let his class play once they got there; and 3. Their charges – the GOP Members of Congress – act even more infantile than most four or five year olds. Waiting for the GOP to grow up might take decades. So, dumping John Boehner as the Speaker of the House and defeating Mitch McConnell would be the fastest fixes for the Congress. All it takes is a Democratic victory in Kentucky Senate contest and a net gain of 17 House seats. And that seems doable. Rick Sloan UCubed President
