CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE 6:20pm today, Causeway Bay. YP reporter Melanie Leung was at the scene when around 30 young men in facemasks appeared and began removing metal barriers. Some were wearing purple ribbons on their wrists, and many of them used foul language and called each other brother. Some protesters shouted insults, and when the young men heard them, they moved towards the protesters. Both sides were shoving. Around 50 police officers arrived. They formed a human chain around the band of young men, and told protesters to back away, saying their safety is most important. The police then escorted the group to a less crowded area a few blocks away and allowed the men to leave. The officers returned to the scene where the clashes happened, and asked if anyone was injured or were willing to give their testimonials at the police station.
