CORD taabani na wajumbe wake, Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro - TopicsExpress

CORD taabani na wajumbe wake, Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro has turned down an offer by ODM to return to the party and cut links with the Jubilee administration. Mr Mung’aro, who is also the Coast Parliamentary Group chairman, said he could no longer work with ODM leader Raila Odinga because their relationship was beyond repair. Efforts by Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori (ODM) to persuade Mr Mung’aro to rejoin ODM were unsuccessful. The leaders were at a funds drive presided over by Deputy President William Ruto at the Watamu chief’s office on Saturday. Watamu Ward Representative Ibrahim Matumbo said Mr Mung’aro was unceremoniously kicked out as ODM’s minority chief whip and declared that Cord should forget the presidency in 2017. NO BENEFITS FROM OPPOSITION Dagoretti MP Denis Waweru and his Juja counterpart Francis Waititu (both Jubilee) and Kwale Woman Representative Zainab Chidzuga said the Coast region, which voted overwhelmingly for ODM in the 2013 elections, should not expect any benefits from the opposition. But when he rose to speak, Mr Dori defended the party and denied that Mung’aro had been kicked out of ODM. “It is not right to say Mung’aro was chased from ODM. If mistakes occur, we should learn to appreciate corrective measures. Let’s embrace dialogue and solving our differences amicably as we are all brothers,” said Mr Dori, whose comments drew a positive response from the large crowd in attendance.
