CORIANDER! (Cilantro) Cilantro Inhibits 94% of Breast Cancer Metastasis in Vitro: An extract of cilantro root was shown in this study to inhibit the migration (spreading) of human breast cancer cells by up to 94% in vitro, and inhibited their growth by over 50%. Extracts of cilantro (also known as coriander) root, leaves and stem were found to contain high amounts of antioxidants, with roots being the richest source. Cilantro has been used in traditional medicine since Ancient Greece, and is still used in Chinese medicine for many different conditions. This super herb is a natural antibacterial (killing Salmonella) and antifungal (killing Candida), and has even shown strong anti-diabetes activity. In-vivo studies on rats showed that coriander not only improved insulin levels and lowered oxidative stress, but it also reduced the damage seen in pancreatic islet cells. As for cilantro’s well-known detox properties—these are indeed backed by some science. Cilantro not only reduced lead accumulation in rats, it also reduces the oxidative stress on the brain caused by any lead toxicity already present. This detox herb has also been shown to chemically bind with, and remove, mercury in its metallic form and very deadly organic form (methyl mercury). Cilantro makes an excellent addition to vegetable smoothies, salads, soups, vegetable plates, guacamole, salsa, hummus and pesto. #Cilantro #Coriander #BreastCancer ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24517259
