(CPV) – The Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and Japan International Cooperation Agency have launched the application procedure for Human Resource Development Scholarships (JDS) 2015-2016. Funded by the Government of Japan’s Grant Aid and targets young government officials who are expected to have remarkable contributions to the socio-economic development of Vietnam, JDS application is now open for young and highly capable government officials. This year, the age limit of the eligibility has been raised to 39 from 34 previously to attract more applications. Vietnamese graduated candidates from the University of Kyushu (the capital city of Fukuoka Perfecture). Accordingly, JDS provides two year Master’s course in various fields from economics to agriculture at Japanese universities. The language used at the Japanese graduate schools will be English and JDS fellows are supposed to write thesis paper in English. The application deadline is 17:00; October 31, 2014. The maximum of 30 successful candidates will be selected by early March 2015 and be dispatched to Japan in August 2015. Starting in Vietnam since 2000, JDS program has so far dispatched 424 fellows. A new cycle of JDS program began last year and its framework has been renewed. A new study titled “Stable supplies for energy” has been added based on the Vietnam’s socio-economic development strategy (2011-2020) and Japan’s assistance policy to Vietnam. JDS information sessions will be held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho, Da Nang and Hue from mid September.
