CREATIVES / SMALL BIZ OWNERS: I determined a little over a year ago that I HAD to get off the crazy train. I was working non-stop. I was thinking about work even when I wasnt working. I was at every single clients beck and call. I was burdened with the pressure of not having jobs for the girls who work for me. My job felt heavy, heavy, heavy. I have not arrived yet but I have made progress and want to help you guys as well because I know how your minds are wired! You cant even watch a movie without multitasking and doing something else at the same time! I see you; I know you; I WAS YOU. Thankfully, Ive made progress. Today I turned my phone off for a half hour and sat on my deck to eat lunch. GUILT-FREE friends! The world did not stop without me. My business did not shut down without me. And I came back REFRESHED. If you are not taking a lunch break, I know it sounds so trivial but you MUST give yourself a break during the day! Every other job gets a lunch break; you need to give yourself one too. Walk away from your computer or your craft. It will be there when you return. I promise.
