► CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN ◄ .....We are TARAF DE HAIDOUKS, the legendary Gypsy band from Romania, and WE NEED YOUR HELP !..... We want to record a new album in the coming months (our first since 2007), and this is where you come in. As you all probably know, the music business is not what it used to be… Yet we strive to continue producing our music with the best possible quality standards, musically and technically. To achieve this, weve put together this crowdfunding campaign, to ask our beloved fans to help raise part of the production costs. And in return for you contribution, as youll notice, we have some special goodies for you ! SEE YOUR REWARDS HERE....!....ulule/taraf-de-haidouks/ .......For the first time since the Dumbala Dumba album (1998), and since the sad demise of our oldest vocalists (Ion Manole, Niculae Neacsu, Cacurica and Ilie Iorga), we will revisit some of the old styles which have enchanted Western audiences on our earlier albums. We are digging back into our repertoire of medieval Romanian ballads and old Gypsy love songs. And will spice things up with a selection of old-school dance tunes, and Turkish-flavoured instrumentals. To do this, we are re-enlisting some of our former collaborators, such as Tsagoi (a great singer, the son of the late Neacsu), Gheorghe Manole (another excellent vocalist, who has mastered the repertoire of his father, the wonderful Ion Manole), and Viorica, the woman who sang our iconic song Dumbala Dumba. We also have some new members who will take part in the recording, the brothers Florin (on accordion) and Gigi (on double bass). The album will be recorded partly in Romania, but mostly in the famous Dada Studios in Brussels, during two or three separate series of sessions, which will necessitate several trips to Brussels. The mix will be entrusted with Vincent Kenis (who mixed all our previous records). Our faithful manager Stephane Karo and label Crammed Discs are supporting us, as they have since day one. But, given the current situation of recorded music, we wont be able to complete this project without our fans contributions.
