CSC sets reminders for civil service examinees on October 13 by April M. Montes DAGUPAN CITY, Sept. 26 (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Lingayen Field Office sets reminders for prospective civil servants taking the Career Service Examination Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) on October 13. Romel Rivera, special investigator III of CSC-Lingayen, said the Dagupan City National High School here will serve as the testing center for some 2,644 examinees from Western Pangasinan. “Examinees should be at the testing venue as early as 7 a.m.” said Rivera. The CSE-PPT is a general ability test designed to measure an individual’s preparedness to enter government service, he said during the ‘Pantongtongan Tayo’ radio program of PIA-Pangasinan aired at DZMQ Radyo ng Bayan on Tuesday. Passers, who get a score of 80 percent or higher, are conferred a Career Service Eligibility – a basic requirement to obtain permanent appointment in government. Rivera said, the examination will cover vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, and numerical reasoning in English and Filipino for both professional and sub-professional levels. Analogy and logic are also parts of the test for professional level while sub-professional level includes spelling and clerical operations, he said. Both levels will have items on general information which involves Philippine Constitution, code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials and employees (R.A. 6713), peace and human rights issues and concepts, and environment management and protection, he added. Examinees are reminded to bring the following: (1) an original and photocopy of the ID card submitted during the filing of application, (2) the application receipt or notice of school assignment, (3) number two lead pencil/s and eraser, and (4) a ball pen (black or blue). “Examinees are advised to contact the field office at (075) 542-6641 a week prior to the examination day to know their respective room assignments,” said Rivera. The notice of school assignment can also be viewed in the CSC’s website: csc.gov.ph, he added. Failure to take the examination on the scheduled date will mean forfeiture of the examination fee and slot and no request for re-scheduling is allowed. Further, proper attire should be worn on the examination day. “Sando,” shorts and slippers are prohibited. The CSC warns that any form of cheating during the examination will be considered a violation of Republic Act No. 9416 (Anti-Cheating Law), and any person found guilty will be administratively and criminally liable and will suffer due penalties, he said. Results of the examination will be posted at the CSC’s website, said Rivera. (JCR/AMM-PIA1 Pangasinan
