CURIOSITY: It is known that Yakuts speaks one of the oldest turkic languages, however, what are their real origin? Yakuts moved from transbaikal region due the tensions between them and buryats( mongols). Around 58 mummified frozen bodies of old Yakuts were used to the genetic study. Scientists proved that Yakuts are a mixed ethnicity, with east asian elements and caucasian besides turkic. In the past many Yakut males had relations with Evenk females what make them a hybrid race. Today , besides the turkic Tuvans , Evenks are shown as closer to Yakuts than others turkic groups as Kazakhs, for example. It is proved that Yakuts share 21 (55.5%) mtDNA haplogroups with the Central Asian ethnic groups and Mongols. Yakuts showed the lowest genetic diversity (H = 0.964) among all Turkic ethnic groups.
