CURRENTLY WATCHING FERGUSON, MISSOURI IN REAL TIME. The armored jackboot of authority has arrived and is doing its best to put itself on the throat of the crowd. Amnesty International has been deployed to observe events there as if we were a failed state in the thick of a civil war...and this what is now happening in America: a Second Civil War that is now in its 10th day since the wanton murder of Michael Brown. Still no arrest, still no interview of witnesses, the man that committed the crime free as a finch while those who merely seek justice are treated as the criminals by police and soldiers in the most disgraceful display of domestic power since Kent State in 1970. This will not be a story with a happy ending. How could there be? We are witnessing in real the most catastrophic cascade failure in our legal system unfold like a slow motion train-wreck. After Trayvon Martin in Florida and Eric Garner in New York, it seems America has finally had enough. Ferguson has become the flash point of the civil rights movement in our time. As more protestors flood into the old South to meet the increasing number of armored troops being deployed by the unwitting Governor of Missouri one wonders what the final body count will when this is over. The death of Michael Brown may be recorded as the first casualty in the most unmitigated disaster on American soil since 9/11.
