CYCLIST & CARRIAGE COLLIDE In September a horse-drawn carriage - TopicsExpress

CYCLIST & CARRIAGE COLLIDE In September a horse-drawn carriage and a cyclist collided, resulting in a chaotic scene, distressed horses and injury to the bike rider. Two of our supporters have given us photos of the incident and recounted that the cyclist received cuts to his hands and legs, while at least one of the horses was badly affected and various carriage operators and bouncers from the Young & Jackson’s pub were attempting to calm her down. One witness tried to communicate with the cyclist but was forced away by the carriage drivers who were clearly in damage control mode. See the bicycle right under the carriage? Swanston Street is simply unsafe for cyclists while the horse-drawn carriages are operating. Melbourne City Council is all about promoting sustainable transport options including cycling and yet refuses to make the city safe and accessible. Did anyone else see what happened?
