Cabernet Franc Reserve 2010 wins “Best of Show” at the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition! Congratulations are due to our vineyard and winemaking teams once again, this time for taking the top honors at the prestigious Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition, a judging held annually in Virginia that focuses upon wines grown in the states that border the Atlantic. All entries must be made exclusively from grapes grown within this region. Boordy’s Cabernet Franc Reserve 2010 was named best overall wine in a field of 588 wines – the largest in the competition’s history. Entries were submitted by 116 wineries from 12 states. Complementing this remarkable achievement, the Landmark Reserve Red 2010 won “Best of Class” in the same competition. Both wines are the outgrowth of Boordy’s “Landmark Project” which was initiated in 2005, and has included replanting our vineyards to new clones and rootstocks, modernizing our winemaking equipment, implementing more selective winemaking practices, and will culminate this fall with the completion of our beautiful new winery. We will be presented with the Jefferson Loving Cup – a silver trophy that the winner keeps for a year - at a ceremony on Capitol Hill on September 19th.
