Calgary Hit & Run Suspect May Have Fled to Victoria Investigators continue to follow up on leads in a life-altering hit & run collision that occurred earlier this year. On Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Ryan Harris was driving a 2005 Hyundai Accent with his son, Nathan, in the passenger seat. They were stopped at a red light on Anderson Road S.W., waiting to make a left-hand turn onto 14 Street S.W. Suddenly they were struck from behind by a Dodge Dakota, pushing their vehicle forward and into the path of an oncoming SUV. Nathan was transported to hospital in critical condition. He suffered a life-altering brain injury, spent over six weeks in hospital, and has undergone numerous reconstructive surgeries since that time. The driver who rear-ended the Harris’s failed to remain at the scene of the collision. Investigators believe they have identified the man, and are still following up on leads. However, further evidence is still needed to confirm their suspect was the driver responsible for the collision.
