Call all gigging woodwind players out there... I intend to step - TopicsExpress

Call all gigging woodwind players out there... I intend to step from recorder to whistle. Ive been reading around for a couple of weeks, and am very tempted by a Tony Dixon whistle/flute dual-head, tapered-bore, in low D. Has anyone got one of these, or tried one out? Or have you tried any other Tony Dixon instrument? Or would you recommend something else entirely? (doesnt *have* to be a snazzy whistle/flute combo - a good low D whistle is the main criterion for me) [ps] for anyone interested, Ill be clearing out my family of plastic recorders - if anyone learning fancies some great student instruments at bargain price... [pps] please share - would love lots of advice from lots of people :)
