Call it, around the Midwest in eight hours. The day started out with working for the Paulding Progress in Paulding all morning. Shortly after noon, I picked up Joyce and took her to Indianapolis for an appointment with her rheumatologist, Dr. Richard Lautzenheiser. The unique thing about Dick is that he and I attended school together in Geneva and he was the drum major for our Marching Cardinals band. We always joke about that. I didnt have the faintest at that time that he would some day be taking care of my wifes severe lower disc problems. On the way back, we drove through a drenching rain to the quaint little community of Albany where we once again enjoyed one of our favorite mom and pop small town cafes, Miltons Family Restaurant in downtown Albany. A tradition there started many years ago when buddy, Mert Sprunger, and I used to go there for meals. Tonight, it was our favorite meal, ham loaf, hominy, spinach and wheat roll. The drive home was divided between continued good visiting, watching a nifty sunset unfold and observing how fast the corn is now growing in Hoosier fields.
