Calling all civic-minded high school juniors! The City of Highland Park invites Highland Park residents who are high school juniors to experience the governmental process by serving on our Boards, Commissions and Task Forces. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about local government and to see democracy in action, while also providing important insights to the City. Student commissioners begin their term in January of their junior year and serve until graduation. Students act as an ex-officio member of the commission (without a vote), but provide relevant input to commission decision-making through comments and/or projects. The deadline for application is December 6, 2013.
