Calling all poker dealers or tipped employees. I am very curious as to what everyone has for a plan in case they cant deal or work for a specified period of time. Our job is very risky in this sense as there is no insurance or disability that will pay our tips if we cannot work. Aflac pays minimal amounts if we get hurt. The Companys disability pays up to 60% of our pay base, usually with a waiting period. Whoopity doo. I would imagine that most of us live day by day and dont have a large savings to draw from. So If I get in an accident or hurt myself in some way where I cant work, I will be very screwed with my expenses as high as they are. SO....... what are your guys backups? What would you do if you couldnt deal or work? Is there any insurance out there that will help pay me my tips if I cant work? Taking a 401K loan would be last resort. Comments, suggestions?
