Calling all students finding the joys of HARVARD REFERENCE not so joyful! ...heres a little plugin for Microsoft Word! So last year it took me, what felt like, forever to work out the referencing system. I know its not rocket science but seriously...how many different systems do these academic folk really need. Surely if I write I have a Dream they should know what I am talking about! Okay, so I am not actually against giving credit where credit is due but man, referencing is a dull sport. This year I decided to try something new. Microsoft Word has an amazing little tool that allows you to cite your statements by filling in the information in a floating window as your writing...really cool if youre like me and get fed up with constantly scrolling up and down the page to write your bibliography. Though it took me a little while to get used to doing it that way I was feeling pretty chuffed. So I am getting towards the end of my essay. Life is good. Just four million other things to do and I can finale sleep. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where I set up my bibliography and pressed that magic update button.... *Warning* If using Words little referencing timesaving device check the formats it provides first. There is no good in spending time entering in all the information to then have to convert it into static text and manually change five pages worth of bibliography. No there is not! The heat did rise; the jaw did clench; the eyes did redden and there was huffing. Lots of huffing that barely concealed the colourful language escaping my lips. Then there were deep breaths. Many deep breaths as I contemplated reaching for that glass of wine, calmly walking outside and oh so lovingly placing the computer in the street. OH REALLY MICROSOFT WORD! ...IS THAT THE WAY YOU LIKE TO PLAY? ...IS IT REALLY, OH SO FUNNY TO MAKE GROWN WOMEN CRY? Then, as if the spirits were listening, a voice in my head said: come on Kira McCoy, you cannot be the first baboon who has done this. Get your backside on that computer and speak to Google or Youtube. Youtube knows everything. Shes like the computer version of mother nature. Shes always there, is sometimes funny but most importantly she is always looking to give you advice. So come on... Dear Youtube, you are the fountain of all knowledge. I thank you...and you too Mr Daniel Apt. INSTRUCTIONS: https://youtube/watch?v=Lwa3SOtcmrc PLUGIN: https://bibword.codeplex/releases/view/15852
