Cambodias Hem Thonponloue finished first in Heat 1 of the Mens 50m Breaststroke ahead of Mongolia, Tajiskistan and Maldives with a time of 32.67secs. His timing could only place him in 22nd place out of 27 competitors. Meanwhile Hemthon Vitiny also could not make it to the finals following her first place finish in a time of 31.18secs ahead of Lao and Maldives. She finished 20th out of 27 participants.
