Came across a news stating that a Doctor in GT medical was sentenced to 2 years RI for accepting Rs.1000/= bribe. This is such a shame...Though we donot endorse corruption at any level, this punishment is too harsh. In a country like ours, where our so called netas milk the nation of crores of tax payers money and still get away with it, here is a doctor has to undergo prison sentence alongwith other hardened criminals. What is the purpose of this punishment? There are many otherways to punish this doctor.. Firstly, they cud have suspended his license for a year.. Secondly they shud have made him to carryout certain number of hours of community service forcing him to carryout medical service to the needy under strict monitoring and control. Our Justice system is so ancient, so bizzare, so thoughtless, so heartless, which has now closed the door on the face of a educated member of the society whereas it allows politicians with criminal backgrounds to decide the destiny of the nation... Is there a remedy to this ill?
