Can I just be honest ? Im sad tonight knowing that things have changed, loved one have passed away and will not be with us during the holidays, tradition as I knew it growing up is no more. Anyone that knows me well knows that family is the most important thing to me outside of Jesus Christ. Just thinking about my family tonight and how everyone goes there own way, life is busy I know, but I sure do miss those that I dont get to see. No more getting together at Moms house for the holidays. No more staying up at my Moms until the wea hours of the morning cutting up onions, apples, celery etc sitting and talking to my Mom laughing, talking and eating while cooking for those moments when everyone arrives Wrapping gifts, mixing names up we had so much fun. On Christmas everybody use to hate it when I would make them all get together for pictures. Now Im so thankful I have those pictures to remind me of the love shared between us all, the fun times, laughing, and even fussing we did. The kids running and playing, all the kisses and hugs OH THOSE WERE THE DAYS that I hide deep within my heart, the days no one can ever take way. I guess its time to accept the fact that its time to make my own traditions to pass on to my kids and grandkids, my nieces, nephews and all my family on both sides that are always welcome at my home anytime. We have an open door policy for them. Lol Although I will always keep those traditions I grew up with I will do my best to give them the same love and fun times that my Mother gave me. Those days are the ones that pull me through hard times and keeps my heart and trust in family going. I think aboit my Mom and and how blessed we are to jave her with us at age 89. Its good to look back at what we once had, may not be with all my family this year for various resons but I will always have you tucked within my heart. There is one thing time cannot remove and that is the Love I have for you.
