Can Muslims Escape Cliches (and Feminism)? In response to a question concerning the upcoming event in London entitled Can Muslims Escape Misogyny?, I wrote an article about the title and the cliched discourse that Muslims are trapped in at the moment - namely, the blaming of the mistreatment of women on certain interpretations of Islam, and advocating a Feminist-imitating discourse as the solution. The problem of the treatment of Muslim women, is the same as the problem of the treatment of Muslim men, poor and the weak in the Muslim world - namely the absence of Islam and shariah in the Muslim world.
