Can anyone name this ancient musical instrument?? Prior to my adventures this weekend, I couldnt either. I was immediately drawn to this instrument by its complex, yet simple design. Simply fascinating...with six different tongues(tones) delicately carved into the face of this musical mahogany box, (the carvings on the face are not for design, despite the obvious beauty. The tongues are carved out and shaped until they reach the desired acoustic tune when struck.) This instrument is capable of over 60 different notes, and when combined (two tongues struck together) create over 300! Sounds ridiculous right? Check it out for yourself. I made this video after about ten mins of practice :) didnt take me long to figure out that this thing was in tune with TOOL! #GoldenTeachers
