Can not believe that tonight is the end of an era (although I hope that there will be an alternative in the near future). I started with MPL in June 2007 and have been with them throughout the run. Became a pokerholic playing 5 days a week when we use to have a game somewhere in the region from Saturdays to Thursdays...Then during that time, I became a tournament director for at least 2 solid years running Union Jacks of Bethesda and McGintys Public House besides filling in plenty of times at Tommy Joes, Harp N Fiddle, Wing Hub/ Maggies Bethesda, even the ill-fated PGA Tour restaurant in Rockville and you all knew me for my pre-game speeches. I have seen the best of people here (and the worst, lol), seen people go to the WSOP, gone against them at casinos, bumped into them at the mall, seen a couple of them get married, the list goes on. And I never will forget the memorable times like movie nights, or having the Wii set up, or best yet, the fencing demonstration at Harp Most of my friends have come from MPL where you all have helped me through the good and bad times, where we have shared home games and outings. I could go on and on and on and on, but I will tell you this...without you guys, I do not know where I would be today. So Thank you Michael for creating a wonderful league and bringing a great bunch of people together. I hope most of us will somehow stay together after this and if I figure out something myself, Ill let you know. So lets join together for one last hurrah where to paraphrase the original motto of this league: Play cards, drink beer, meet new friends, and drink more beer.
