Can someone explain the tech bus protests in San Francisco to me? San Fran gentrified a long-time ago (certainly prior to when I lived there in the late 1990s) and rich techies would seem to be good for the local economy (buying expensive sourdough baked goods and so forth) and herding them to work on buses seems like it would be good both for the environment (less pollution) and traffic (fewer cars on the 101). What are they upset about? Im serious. Im totally at a loss here.
