Can someone tell me why compassion is seen as a weakness while insensitivity is viewed as a strength? I see the value in putting forth a tough face in harsh situations. I understand the importance of the ability to portray an insensitive façade. However, I see more bravery, honesty and integrity in a person who is not afraid to show their true feelings. Its humbling to see those who still have a touch of humanity and sensitivity in their souls. The strongest people I know are the amazing women that I have in my life. My mom is not afraid to cry because she is so passionate about a student having an Aha! moment. My aunt is not afraid to say that she is hurting because an animal is injured or has been lost. Why is it that we view women as weak because they are, when in all reality, they are the only ones willing to pick the strong ones up, even when theyre hopeless too?
