Can we be inspired by someone who has a stark opposing belief system to our own? I say yes. I have read Anthem and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I am so inspired by these writings of mans spirit. They are powerful and attest to the potential of man, his accomplishments and his fight for individuality. Ayn is an athiest, and rather well known as a defender of man. I can respect her belief, or rather non-belief, and still hold to my own belief in God. She is an amazing writer and whether she believes in God or not, I believe he believes in her. I find extreme beauty in finding common ground. As long as I share a similar moral code (not harming another human), I believe common ground can knit our souls together. In the end, we love each other despite our differences and unite for the good of mankind.
