Can you post without my name please? Im very uneducated in how the law works with a certain situation...(not for a lack of trying). So I was looking for some help/suggestions/etc from others. I have a 6 year old daughter. The dad left when I was pregnant and moved to another state.. Wanting nothing to do with her. I have spoken to him approximately 4 times since then, and he has given false hope of potentially helping. He never signed any paperwork/birth certificate obviously since he wasnt there. I do NOT want him in her life because of his choice to leave and not return.... However, I have contemplated child support. The extra money would help, but it isnt worth the drama that could potentially arise from filing. I would like to know : 1. Would he have any rights or could he file for rights if I filed the paperwork? 2. What if I only know the general area of his house but not the exact address? 3. Any help/suggestions concerning this 4. A lawyer that could help break it down 5. What about terminating his rights? Like I said, Im just looking to further educate myself on the matter before taking the next step... So any help would be appreciated.
