Can you spot the stars???? Yes, that is our very own Ms. Waffle and Sarah on the sofa at the BBC! Waffle was invited to be on the One Show - she has become a media sensation and they wanted to be part of that. I know that the whole terrier community were ready and waiting for Waffles appearance - we had to sit through some very interesting pieces about ants and antibiotics, exploding manhole covers, and John Craven sitting in a field - apparently he has been doing that for 25 years. Then the star of the show was on!!!! Waffle is one fabulous pup and she was perfect. Now as a background - we had hoped the BBC would tell everyone about the amazing Borlee Hunt and the fantastic amount that has been raised from all around the world. But sadly as the BBC cannot seem to be shown to be advertising - they did not mention Terrier SOS or show the pictures of the dogs we sent them. We did try to subtley show Terrier SOS - the wonderful Debbie Kingston made a bandana and special bag for Waffle - and her husband hand delivered it to the BBC studios - they did deliver the bag and bandana but would not let Waffle wear it! We tried! We love the BBC and know that they have rules to work within - but we feel (humbly) that they missed the real story. So we will over the next few days put it in words and pictures…as we the Terrier Community know the truth. The real story was not about an adorable doggie finding borlees - although a great story - was not the story. The truth of what makes all of us smile and possibly cry (me at least) - is that this little dog has raised a fantastic amount of money to help dogs that have no chance - it is a story about a global community coming together over a common love - our dogs. This little dog has made us smile and has brought us together and we are stronger because of her. She has brought attention to the plight of desperate dogs and has proven that they are worth saving and that despite all the negative in the world - this is what makes us good and this is what changes the world for the better. Waffle is our hero, and we are honoured she and her mum, Sarah support Terrier SOS and terriers all over the world. This very sweet fundraising idea organised by Sally Grist has grown into a global sensation, Waffle and Sarah have worked so hard even leaving the safety of the countryside to go into London and work looking for borlees in the BBC studios (all for a bowl of water and a cup of tea). All of this has started not from some PR machine or Marketing idea - but from the heart….as pure and good as that Thank you, Waffle, Sarah, Sally, Debbie, Danny, Ros and many more supporters, fundraisers…. you are an amazing wonderful group of people and dogs…..
