Cannot stop smiling (not because of a guy); it just feels damn good to smile so much again. In a few weeks, I travel to Charleston, SC to have our mothers official funeral but its going to be ok. The timing is right to just focus on my incredible family, laugh with the little ones, hug my Aunt Kat like theres no tomorrow, sing in church while holding my cousins hands and enjoy some perfect South Carolina sunsets. If Ive learned ANYTHING from losing a family member to suicude, its this: Please dont give up. Please. Our world is less without Elizabeth in it, no matter how much of a pain in the ass she was and how much I thought Id never care what happened to someone who hurt everyone I loved--- She. Is. Needed. And had I known she was still needed, Id have swallowed my pride and reached out. But as I tell everyone, We do the best we can with the information we have in front of us. So, if anyone is ever bummed the way our Mother was and wants to leave this world---Dont. Dont give up on yourself and dont leave your family behind. Or as we say in the GORUCK family, DFQ.
