Cant get over some of these lobster fishermens groups on Facebook ? Its been what now going on three years on this pricing war issue with still no change in the fishery ! No1- The buyers/processers cant sell what they dont have (Lobsters.) No2-Dont set your traps before a wharf price is set. No3-Control the supply of your product by not flooding out the market. No4-Global marketing tapping into more European markets. No5-More media/internet coverage. No6-Change the lobster measure I find these groups are full of answers but starved for knowledge ! With thousands of Questions and Answers in these groups this industry still stands the same with little or no change. I made this group about the lobster fishery looking for new ideas(But never heard any!) on this old but very faithful fishery that has been the backbone of this community and keeping this town alive long before the ferry sailed out of town. Yarmouth has felt the devastation from the loss of the ferry service just think of the havoc Yarmouth would see if this lobster fishery could not support the towns economy anymore ! Time to make this fishery work for all instead of a fortunate few where the rich keep getting richer and the time for change is never to late..My opinion...
