Cant help feeling a thrill to see SRA student Nirvana Felix standing next to Dolores Huerta! Ms. Huerta is a major historical figure in the movement for farm workers rights and co-founder of the United Farm Workers with Cesar Chavez. Nirvana attended Ms. Huertas 84 birthday celebration as a First Generation Civil Rights Fellow with the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, a highly respected Washington DC civil rights organization founded at the request of President John F. Kennedy. We’re so proud of Nirvana and grateful to the Lawyers Committee for offering her this exceptional fellowship!
