Cant seem to get this out of mind since my daughters are close to her age. Last week, a student at Anchor Bay High School, Aislynn, 14 yrs old, lost her battle with cancer. I didnt know her or her family, I cant imagine the pain and suffering, she and her family have had to endure and continue to. One minute shes starting High School, enjoying her first Homecoming Dance, a hopeful future ahead of her with the cancer in remission. Three months later shes gone. Sunday night, a candlelight vigil was held at the High School. Kelly Hart Harrington and I, listened to our children sing with the choir Its a Wonderful World, the choir Aislynn sang with for a brief time. Looking at all the students there, I was thinking, please be appreciative of ALL you have, big or small, the little things become the the big things. Enjoy every birthday, milestone and everything in between. Selfishness can never be. While things are great, the unconditional love of family and friends are so important. I, myself, have never been able to window shop and just buy to buy, but Im not going to loose sleep over it. Nor would I deny the happiness it brings to those who can. Yes theres things I hope to have someday and Ill get there, so will you. When I was 26, my best friend died at 27 from bone cancer. I realized something then. When asked what I wanted for Christmas or my birthday, I always said to those I love or loved, the only present Ill ever need is you, and I meant it everytime. Love you very much Alyssa and Danielle. God Bless you Aislynn
