Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announced the arrest of fifty-two year old Judith Davis, of Lindenwold , New Jersey, for theft in excess of $500.00 from the Cape May County Historical and Genealogical Society located in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. A financial theft investigation was conducted by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Major Crimes Unit. As a result, Davis, a Cape May County employee was arrested and charged with third degree Theft and second degree Official Misconduct criminal charges. Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 5 to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison; that persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years.. Prosecutor Taylor continues to urge the citizens of Cape May County to report any information regarding illegal activity within the community, and that this information can be reported anonymously through the Cape May County Sheriff’s Tip Line at cmcsheriff.net and click on anonymous tip, or through the Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 609-465-2800 or 877-465-2801, as well as the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-465-1168.
