Capitals 3, Owen Co. 0 The Capitals’ Brandon Webb and Owen County’s Grant Cobb pitched complete games, combining for 26 strikeouts and allowing a combined five hits. All three of the Capitals’ runs scored on wild pitches. The first came in the second inning when Andrew Schultz led off with a single. He went to second on a wild pitch, took third on a passed ball and scored on another wild pitch. The game’s last two runs were plated in the third inning. Derrick King led off for the Capitals and got on with a two-base error. He stole third base and scored on a wild pitch. Webb hit a one-out single. A passed ball allowed him to go to second, he took third when Wyatt Strasburger grounded out to the pitcher and he scored on a wild pitch. Schultz singled twice and Webb had a base hit to account for the Capitals’ three hits. Webb struck out 10 batters. Owen County’s hits were singles by Cobb and Jason Gray. Cobb recorded 16 strikeouts.
