Carbs are for energy and protein is food for muscles. You need a balance of both. Lean protein and COMPLEX carbs. Good rule of thumb- if its white its probably a simple carb and not good for you!!! If you are just starting out , try mixing half and half until you get use to the taste and texture of complex carbs. For example, half regular pasta, half whole grain wheat. Half brown rice half white rice. The end result should be 100% whole unrefined complex carbs!
