Cardiac Challenge 2013 is done and dusted. I made it from Cairns to Cooktown with no punctures over 350km! It was hot and windy, uncomfortable at times and the biggest challenge of it all was to control my mind. A big thank you to Pack 4 for making it a memorable ride for a newbie like me; to John, Nico, Cindy, Jeff and Peter for sticking with me and your encouragement; to Michael - our rear escort vehicle driver - for being prompt when this Russian princess overheated and started seeing unicorns 11km away from our camp site; to Sharon - our front escort vehicle driver - who always had the yummiest things in her car (like ice cold water and fruit cake); to all the volunteers and all the support support crew who worked tirelessly and anticipated all of our needs; to the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation staff who organised it all; and to the communities who welcomed us with open arms. Did I enjoy it? Well no…. I LOVED IT! Will I do it all over again next year? FOR SURE!
