Cardiology update: The Heart Doc told me today that if a heart is pumping blood at a healthy volume, they rate it a 50. Mine is pumping blood at about a 25. The heart muscle is weakened and needs meds, better diet, less work and conditioning to recover. So, the good news is that I caught this at just the right time, when its not a total loss and I can turn it around. The bad news is that I really cannot overdo it for awhile. Dog walks are fine and excercise is emphasized. Meanwhile, my friends Lisinopril, Carvedidlol and my new buddy, Trianterene will be constant companions. There is no reason I cant come back from this reduced function. But its going to take deliberate work. Im just glad I got access to the quality of Doctors I did WHEN I did.
