Careers at ARI! Asian Resources, Inc. Employment Service Specialist Job Description The Employment Service Specialist will work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator. S/he shall also work in coordination with other Employment Service Specialists in fulfilling the program’s placement goals. This position requires frequent driving to different locations. Duties Include: • Contacting employers to develop job positions for enrolled clients • Provide case management functions; file maintenance • Develop training and work experience contracts with employers • Assess clients for supportive services • Provide referrals and resources when necessary • Outreach and recruit new clients • Screen clients for eligibility and job skills • Provide job readiness sessions to prepare clients for interviews • Work with instructors to develop employability plan for clients • Provide input on program evaluation and trainee progress • Work with MIS staff for accurate data reporting • Attend meetings and participate in training-related workshops • Worksite visits to monitor client’s progress and regulation compliance • Regular and timely attendance • Work safely and report safety issues • Other duties as assigned Required Skills and Knowledge: • At least one (1) year experience with employment and vocational training programs • At least one (1) year experience with assessment and case management • Awareness of the social and economic problems facing minorities in this community • Knowledge of the labor market and occupational climate in Sacramento County • Reliable transportation; good driving record • Experience working with employers and developing new collaborations; Knowledge of the Sacramento labor market as well as community resources preferred • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple work tasks and meet deadlines. • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and willingness to learn new skills • Proficient in Microsoft Suites and other computer programs. • Team-oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated to the formation and philosophy of the development of employment and economic development • Valid California Drivers License, own transportation, automobile insurance and good driving record required • Bilingual/Multilingual skills preferred including Hmong, Lao, Chinese, Thai, Tagalog, Mien, Farsi, Spanish, Russian, Bosnian, or Ukrainian FINAL FILING DATE: Until filled.
