Caring. Understanding. Patient. Loving. Empathetic. Planner. Organizer. Tear/nose wiper. Offering of hugs when needed. Altruistic. Fosters imagination, independence and creativity. Encourages enthusiasm and passion. A great sense of humour. Recognizing and celebrating each individual child. Flexible. Creative. Spontaneous. These descriptors dont even begin to describe the day in the life of an Early Childhood Educator. But they should give you a great idea of WHY we do what we do. So today, if you know someone that is an Early Childhood Educator, please say thank you for all they do for young children. They are there because they WANT to.
