Carl J. Richard, Professor of History at U of Louisiana at Lafayette, will be our "resident scholar" at FreedomFest. He is knowledgeable on all things Roman. He is the author of several books, especially "Why We Are All Romans: The Roman Contribution to the Western World." He points out that our government was based on Roman Republican form of government -- a balance between the one (president), the few (the Senate) and the many (the House of Representatives). Our legal system depends a great deal on the Roman civil law and natural law. And the Christian faith became the dominant religion of the West due to Romans -- St. Paul, Constantine, and St Augustus). His book will be available at the Laissez Faire Bookstore. I recommend you buy a copy, and get his autograph, and attend his two sessions.
