Carrollton, Texas: Part 1! Heres Duke! I met this happy - TopicsExpress

Carrollton, Texas: Part 1! Heres Duke! I met this happy galoot on Sunday. Short short version, he is up for adoption through Operation Kindness and one of the volunteers asked if I could take some pictures and videos to get this fella some SHARES. Duke was rescued at the same time as two other Great Danes. The other two have been adopted. But in Dukes case he was in pretty rough shape, so it has taken some time to get him to a normal weight and healthy again. He is black with a white patch on his chest and toe socks. He is not as tall as other Great Danes Ive seen but he weighs in at 145lbs and could gain about five more. He is estimated at about 3 years old. Hes definitely big enough and will certainly make a dent in your kibble budget. :-) He is also currently HW+ which will be treated soon, just he had to get healthy enough first to be treated. Honestly, when I first saw Duke I thought he was a puppy. I am not joking when I call him a galoot. He jumps and romps around like he cant figure out how big his feet are. He is not the kind of dog for a home that keeps the fine china on display, but he would be awesome in a home where he could do a few zoomies for a sqeaky ball. And as you can see in the video, heaven is a water hose. :-) Duke is a happy boy but he appears to have not been socialized in his previous life. As a result, he is friendly, but he needs manners. He does not realize how big he is, so he either needs to go to a home that is expirienced with large breeds or one that has no young children. And I ask that you please help a Great Dane out. Operation Kindness is a great place, but not one that someone looking for a Great Dane would typically go to. And between his size and needing to get healthy, Duke has been in offsite boarding and is not listed on their website. As far as I know, the only pictures/videos of him are the ones me and my partner in crime took Sunday. He cant find a home if no one sees him. I ask that you SHARE to spread the word, and also comment with any Great Dane rescue groups that could courtesy post Duke. To be clear, he is rescued and all of his vetting will be covered by Operation Kindness, but we need people to see him so he can find an awesome forever home. If you would like more information or to meet Duke, please PM the page and I will give your info to the volunteer that is working with him. Thanks! Deborah
