Cast your mind back several thousand years... When humans first spread out across the earth, why did they settle in the places they did? Why not in Antarctica, or the middle of deserts? Obviously, they settled in the places they considered most conducive to life at that time. Are modern people not smart enough to figure this out as well? Of course they are, and they can move more easily with better information and lower cost of transport. It is only governments that stop people moving to where the capital is concentrated, or stop owners of capital from moving their equipment to where the labour is concentrated. Labour and capital seek each other out, as each is impotent without the other. It is purely thanks to governments restricting such movements that there are poor countries.
